Windsor CT Meet - Saturday June 21, 2014

AOMCI Wet Meet
Connecticut River/Windsor CT
Hosts: Barb & Ray Schaber
8:30 to 3:00

(Use
245 East Barber St. Windsor, CT for GPS or MapQuest - when you get there look for signs to Boat Ramp)

Directions & Map Below

Ray & Barbara Schaber are the hosts for a meet at the East Barber St. boat ramp at Windsor Meadows State Park. (Located just 2 minutes off I-91, just north of Hartford CT)

This is an absolutely beautiful section of the Connecticut River just above the historic Hartford waterfront. (See the past years meets by clicking on the links below) There are miles of river to explore and lovely scenery to take in. At the meet Ray has a chart showing the places you can go. (May want to bring an extra shear pin or two in case you find one of the Native American fish weirs like we did a few years ago!)

If interested, here is a link to the USGS website for water level for the Connecticut river at Hartford; Hartford CT Water Level

There is also active swapping and trading of items in the parking area throughout the day - bring something and leave with two new ones!

Directions

For GPS put in 245 East Barber St. Windsor, Ct. 06095.

The meet is conveniently located to all of New England at the intersection of I-91 and I-291. Take exit 3 off I-291 or Exit 34 off I-91 northbound or Exit 35B from I-91 southbound. Then follow the map below.

The Safe Running of Boats & Motors
All boats used at a Yankee Chapter AOMCI wet meets must be legally registered, insured and have all safety equipment as required by law. Since safety is a concern for all recreational boaters, the wearing of life jackets is recommended for all individuals and is required by law in many states for children 12 years of age and under. Laws may also require children 12 and under to wear life jackets on docks and other areas. See the Connecticut DEP regulations for watercraft at the following link: Connecticut DEP

When boating, please act responsibly and obey all rules of the road and local laws regarding speed and noise limitations. Please be sure that all equipment is operated in a safe and respectful manner. The consumption of alcoholic beverages at Yankee AOMCI functions is strictly prohibited.

You must be an AOMCI member in good standing or be the guest of a current member to participate in Yankee Chapter meets.
